In December 2015, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s office cut a secret antitrust deal with Waste Management that allowed it to complete its big money acquisition of Southern Waste Systems and Sun Recycling, including Sun’s Broward recycling facilities. In the six years before, as Bondi campaigned for election and re-election, Waste Management contributed more than $150,000 to the Republican Party of Florida, Gov. Rick Scott and Bondi. -

President Trump’s nominee to become the next U.S. Marshal in South Florida is the brother-in-law of Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera. The nomination of Gadyaces Serralta, a Miami-Dade police major, for the $160,000-a-year job was sent to the Senate last week for confirmation. -
Congressman Deutch wants answers about Kalashnikov USA and Russia sanctions

U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch asked the Treasury Department Wednesday if it has investigated Pompano Beach-based Kalashnikov USA to determine whether federal sanctions were violated “through illicit business relations” with Russian firearms giant Concern Kalashnikov.
