The state NAACP, saying the law was passed in response to racial justice demonstrations and could chill the exercising of First Amendment rights, filed a federal lawsuit challenging portions of it. The Biden administration has proposed a rule that would temporarily halt the transportation of liquified natural gas (LNG) by rail – except in three states, including Florida, where those “bomb trains” regularly haul the highly flammable material through heavily populated neighborhoods along the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) tracks.
